Support Our Work

AAF is the only private foundation in Colorado dedicated to funding companion animal care organizations

Through our 50 years of grantmaking, annual site visits, and relationships we have built in communities across Colorado, Animal Assistance Foundation has a unique perspective and set of tools that allow us to evaluate organizations for funding and ensure maximum impact on animals.

  • Give Directly to our Partner Organizations

A powerful way to make a difference for animals in Colorado is by donating directly to the organizations doing the hands-on work. Our grantee partners are dedicated to improving the lives of animals across the state, and we are incredibly proud of their impact.

If you are passionate about helping pets in need, we encourage you to support these local animal welfare organizations directly.

  • Planned Giving Options

Supporting the Animal Assistance Foundation through a legacy gift ensures that diverse Colorado animal welfare organizations—ranging from shelters to rescues, across all sizes and locations—receive the help they need. Your lasting contribution will initiate and sustain critical projects that address pervasive, interconnected challenges facing animals in Colorado.

    Bequests

Recent bequests have been particularly impactful to animals in Colorado, expanding the reach of our annual grantmaking and increasing the opportunities for capital grants, beyond the scope of our existing portfolio.

One of the easiest ways to leave a lasting gift to support the foundation is through a bequest. You can do this by including specific language in your will or living trust, naming the Animal Assistance Foundation as a beneficiary.

We are happy to work with you and your attorneys as you draft estate planning documents.

“A GRRR volunteer transported Finley across the state following major intestinal surgery and a relinquishment. He was taken directly to our vet clinic, where one of our doctors fell in love and ended up adopting him. Needless to say, it was a great move, and Finley became the clinic's official greeter dog. He is now healthy, and living a dream life. Finley has dogs to cuddle with at home and at work, in an active Colorado forever home!”

“Little Bay came to MVHR underweight and with concerns about his physical limitations. After refeeding, our trainer was able to help evaluate his usability from both a training and physical ability standpoint and quickly assess that he was very well trained and lightly rideable. Within weeks, he was then able to find a loving home, where he now has two little boys of his own who will love and care for him for the rest of his life.”

"Eli arrived at DAS in February with a broken leg and four broken ribs. Due to the extent of his injuries our team determined that his leg needed to be amputated. Thanks to AAF, we were able to provide timely veterinary care for Eli and enrichment to keep his mind busy. Eli recovered well and was adopted at the beginning of March. Thank you so much to AAF for helping us provide the highest standard of care for the neediest and most vulnerable animals in our community."
